Vipps, an easier way to pay Vipps!
No charge for amounts below NOK 5 000. For payments of NOK 5 000 or above, the charge is 1% of the amount. All you need to know, to send money, is the person’s phone number and the rest we will take care off. As an example, you can send money that you owe a friend, or collect money for someone’s birthday present.
You can send money through Vipps regardless of your bank connection. To receive money your friend must download and register Vipps.
To be able to use Vipps you need:
• Norwegian identity number
• Norwegian phone number
• Norwegian payment card
• Norwegian account number in any Norwegian bank
• E-mail
• To be over 15 years old
Getting started is super easy
• Add your phone number, identity number and name
• Register your Visa or MasterCard and your account number
• Add your e-mail
• Create your pin code
It could be smart to add a picture of yourself so that the receiver can easily see who you are.
Sending money
• Log into Vipps with your pin code
• Choose the person you want to pay from your contact list or type in a phone number.
• Choose the amount and add a personal comment
• Press send and the money is on its way
To receive the money your payee downloads the Vipps app, registers his personal data and receives the payment on his account. If the payee choose not to download Vipps and register, the money will be transferred back to your account after 3 days.
Requesting money
• Log into Vipps with your pin code
• Choose the person you want to request money by typing in a mobile number or add a person from your contact list.
• Choose the amount an add a personal comment
• Press send and you have made a request
When the person you requested money from has accepted you will receive the money on your account. Note that to request money you both have to be Vipps users.
Split Bill Are you going on a weekend trip, holiday or simply sharing the expenses over a period of time? In the new version of Vipps you can split the bill - it's super easy.
Create a group with a name, and add members to be included. Now people in the group can enter all the expenses.
When everything is added and all have confirmed that the settlement is done, it's easy to see who owes what.
Vipps for small businesses Now you can use Vipps when paying to a small business or a charity.
Vipps as payment method in apps and online shopping
Soon you can also use Vipps to do payments online or by payment in apps. Look for the Vipps logo when you shop online or in apps.
